Dewar's Portuguese Smooth 8 Year

Dewar’s is a legend. The famous brand was founded in 1846 by John Dewar Sr. The brand expanded rapidly under the cooperative leadership of his two sons — John Dewar Jr. and Tommy Dewar. Now owned by Bacardi, Dewar's is famous for pioneering the concept of marrying — assembling a blend and then returning it to the cask to homogenize together. The core White Label has a massive on-premises distribution, making it the most popular Blended Scotch Whisky in the US and fifth-largest world wide.

The concept of Dewar's 8 Year Old Portuguese Smooth is simple enough. They take their classic eight year-old White Label signature Scotch distilled at the famous Aberfeldy Distillery and finish it for up to six months more in premium Ruby Port casks from Portugal. The intent is to bring a new, complex dimension to the Whisky with more fruit-forward notes and a smooth profile. Thus the name, "Portuguese Smooth."
